Effort
As a social worker and for many years, a school counselor, I understand the magnitude and urgency of hard work and effort. However, any “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” speech - especially targeted towards America’s youth and given by a Democrat - should include at least some reference to the fundamental impact of the many discrepancies related to opportunity and a plethora of “isms”. You can call me a bleeding heart… but I may stop calling Obama a Democrat.
